HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF T.NAGAR
This article tells you about the history and evolution of Thyagaraya Nagar ( T.Nagar) . Thyagaraya Nagar is the first planned town in Chennai . In TNagar there's a part called Mambalam village later called as west mambalam.
West Mambalam which has been the settlement for middle class families.
T.Nagar bus terminus was the first depot to come up inside the city. Its location, in close proximity to Mambalam Railway Station, was an added advantage. With pucca pacca connectivity, T.Nagar developed into a place of commerce.
T Nagar is today known more for its shopping complexes. Among the first to set base here was Nalli’s, its trademark white art-deco showroom still a prominent presence. Another old name is Naidu Hall. Since then we have had any number of other famous names here. Come festival season, the crowds that throng T Nagar are legendary. This has also led to several problems, most notably congestion. But there is no denying that T Nagar possesses a vibrancy all of its own. It is therefore no surprise that some have come to think of the ‘T’ as being an abbreviation for trade.
T Nagar is perhaps unique in that it has a book on it .
Last but not the least , my college SHASUN JAIN COLLEGE FOR WOMEN is in The famous "T.Nagar". When I was studying in school I will come to , TNagar just to purchase clothes and stuffs, since 2018 I'm going to The TNagar daily it's kinda ironic for me .
